Hiatus – The Pathetic Attempts of Seana Lucy Smith Trying To Stay Calm In A World That Has Something Against Her : Week 13

My weekly diary to record how I’m doing on my  Do Less and Stay Calm goals for 2015.  A way of keeping myself accountable.

Hooray for the end of the school term!

Oh thank God for that.

It’s me and three of the boisterous bairns for the Easter school holidays, which feels like a picnic. Teen18 is off on Friday to meet his Dad in Dubai and they are going off for a Grannies and Golf Tour of Scotland.

The past five weeks since Paul left have been very gruelling, both in terms of emotions and stuff to do. And, to be honest, I have kept calm and even maintained a sense of humour and am dead proud of myself.

Calm Strong Kind has become my mothering mantra… much needed as the kids got rattier and rattier as term’s end loomed.

Admittedly the March goal of never drinking alcohol when home with the kids didn’t make it past week three… and I have a light beer to hand as I type… but I’ll forgive myself. Exercise has been taken, more will come over the Easter break.

Big changes are coming for our family, for the better. Soonish, my hubby will be working in Sydney again. To guage my joy just read Why This FIFO Lifestyle Can Just F… Off.

The website I have been working on – which is going to be SO USEFUL for families with teens and young adults on the autism spectrum – is almost complete.

Anyway, in the spirit of self care, I’ll be a bit intermittent in my online life for a bit. If you need me, just listen for the sound of foil scrunching and chocolate being munched.

Happy Easter!!

Take it easy
